Choreography of Internal Time

On Friday 2/20/15, LOrkAS got the opportunity to work with choreographer Teoma Naccarato and composer John MacCallum with their new research system that uses heartbeat info for the use of musical composition and dance, as well as looking into bio feedback.

For this one, we used WiiMotes to enact drum sounds to a metronome synced to heartbeat data of two dancers. It was a really interesting system and it would be excellent to go further into it, but the system itself is still at early stages… we’re trying to cook up a new way of using the patches Garrett built with the system.

More about the residency/project here and here.

(everybody doing a post-mortum of the performance. None of the actual performance pictures were that interesting.)
