media artist + library geek + board game enthusiast
Althea Pergakis is an undergraduate student in the school of Arts, Media and Engineering at Arizona State University, where she is most interested in interactive installation design, but also dabbles in wearable electronics and projection mapping.
She daylights at the Tempe Public Library, primarily assisting patrons with various activities on public access computers. Once upon a time, she was also the Bookstore Manager for the Friends of the Tempe Public Library, (non-profit that supports library collections and programs) and an intern for the Arizona Commission on the Arts, where she assisted with grant fulfillment and the creation of a consortium of local arts agencies.
She is planning on going to library school after graduation, to focus in Digital Collections and Public Librarianship, as she hopes to continue bringing information and technological access to the masses.
